By far, the most unwelcome report was Alexander Campbells Delusions, a scathing critique of the Book of Mormon. Campbell published Delusions as a 12-page pamphlet on Feb 7, 1831, just one month before revelation of D&C 45 on Mar 7,1831the revelation in which Smith was commanded to stop translation of the Old Testament and to immediately begin translation of the New Testament.
